겉 보고 빛 좋은 개살구 택하지 말아라.
때 되면 오색찬란 추풍낙엽이다.
Do not choose something based on its outer appearance, which is like a beautiful fruit that is disappointing inside.
When the time comes, all its brilliant and vivid colors will [fade] like leaves falling in the autumn wind.

아브라함과 그 조카 롯이 같이 살다
인생의 갈림길이 홀연히 왔다.
Abraham and his nephew Lot lived together until one day, a crossroad of life suddenly came before them.

롯은 화려한 향락 도시 소돔 땅을 택하고
그곳에서 봉사나 하고 살다가
하나님 때가 되어 소돔 땅이 심판을 받아
하늘에서 유황불이 내려
불바다 되고, 잿더미가 되었다.
롯은 도망쳐 삭막한 곳에 살면서
인생을 연명했다.
Lot chose the land of Sodom, a glamorous city of pleasure.
He lived there, simply serving the community.
Then, when God’s time came and the land of Sodom was judged, sulfur and fire rained down from heaven and turned [the land] into a sea of fire and a heap of ashes.
Lot fled and survived, living out the rest of his life in a desolate place.

아브라함은 가나안, 하나님 축복의 땅에서
하나님 사랑하는 것을 낙으로 삼고 살면서
이상세계를 이루고,
후손들도 거기에서 천국을 이루고 살게 했다.
In Canaan, Abraham lived in God’s blessed land, loving God as his joy.
He made the ideal world and his descendants also live there, making it into heaven.

겉 보고 택하면 속 보고 실망이다.
속 보고 택해야 안 속는다.
If you choose something looking at its appearance, you will be disappointed by the inside.
You must choose by looking at the inside. Only then will you not be deceived.

사람도, 수석도, 물건도 만사가 그러하니
늘 확인하고 해라.
사람은 마음 보고 택한다.
The same is true with people, ornamental rocks, and other possessions.
Therefore, always check and then take action.
As for people, they are chosen by looking at their hearts.
